So many things flood my mind?! GW Bridge, NJ dates in White Plains from Summit?
Night School at Fordham. Ticker Tape parade down...up that is....Broadway with the Mercury 7 Astronauts. I saw it from a construction scafolding, across from City Hawl.
John Glenn, Alan Shephard, Gus Grisholm. And then Khruschev speeding down Park Ave in a black limo. Which one was he in? To the UN.
Love NY....but wait! This is NJ.
More later.

Great photo, John.
Yes, the year of the Loon!
When do you get the schedule for a book tour?
Coming this way?
Concord Bookshop and Porter Square Books are my two favorite independent booksellers.
Want me to look into setting up book signing/readings?

I remember driving through the Holland Tunnel from NJ to NYC and some guy honked at Dad. Dad layed on his horn and wouldn't stop honking. A cop pulled him over for making too much noise in the tunnel. I hid in the back seat. So shy and embarrassed about my dad!

Kim and Bill are thinking about ways to get you out here...book tour and more? Veterans support.
What an exciting year for you, John...and your proud family! The year of the Loon...it's beginning to sound peaceful and quiet...bird found on northern lakes where the air is pure and the woods are quiet. Amen.

The loon is the bird that laughs during the day and cries at night with a mournful sound. Seems appropriate.

We held the day
In the palm
Of our hand
They ruled the night
And the night
Seemed to last as long as six weeks
On parris island
We held the coastline
They held the highlands
