So many thoughts of you and vets dead and alive have flowed through my mind today. NPR has done a great job interviewing vets too...so many stories told; so many stories untold. Thank you for working so hard to get one story told, so the rest of us know more, feel more, appreciate more... Thank you, John, for persevering ...I am grateful for your life and your life's work.

Veteran's day today spent w/ Wil Staub and his WWII Jeep at the Morrison, CO Veteran's Day ceremony. Kids from the elementary school waving flags, Harley bikers conducting traffic, honor guard shooting M-1s in ceremony and memories of many 11.11.11's across the US and Europe (still called Armistice Day there). Memories of Jessie and me walking in a parade in a small town in France with all the others to the cemetary on 11.11.11:00 five years ago. And Wil reflecting on driving a LCM into Omaha Beach. As one teacher said, "the kids will learn more here in an hour than they will all week at school...if ya'know what I mean!"
